Intuitive Usui Reiki is a combination of traditional Usui Reiki techniques with a more personalized, intuitive approach to energy healing. Usui Reiki is the original form of Reiki, founded by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900s, and is focused on channeling universal life energy through specific hand positions and symbols for healing. It follows a structured system with set protocols, including specific attunements, symbols, and hand placements.

When combined with intuition, the practitioner of Intuitive Usui Reiki incorporates their own inner guidance and spiritual insights into the session. This may involve sensing where energy is needed most in the client’s body, adjusting hand positions based on what feels right in the moment, or integrating other intuitive techniques, such as visualizations, crystals, or chakra balancing.

The intuitive element allows the session to be more tailored to the client’s unique energy, addressing specific needs that may not be apparent through a more standardized approach. This blend offers a more fluid and customized healing experience while still rooted in the traditional principles of Usui Reiki.

Hi my name is Dr. Alysha Hergott. I grew up in Kitchener, ON heavily involved in basketball and generally living a healthy active lifestyle with friends and family. This led me to pursue a degree in Physical and Health Education at Queen’s University where I graduated in 2017. I then continued on to graduate with distinction from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and earn my Doctor of Chiropractic in 2021. I followed that up with moving with my husband to Grande Prairie the same year and now I’m here at Progressive!

As a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, I pride myself in providing a hands-on, patient centred, diversified treatment experience. What that means is I offer a wide variety of services that are geared towards you as an individual. Those services include spinal and extremity manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue therapy, cupping, shockwave therapy, activator, laser therapy, patient education, and exercise prescription. I use these services to help relieve different stressors on the body and nervous system, while helping you work towards your individual goals and get back to your most enjoyed activities.

I have also found a special interest in both pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic care. I am now Webster certified, which means I use this specific chiropractic technique to help women who are pregnant optimize their pelvic function and improve their overall health and wellness pre and postpartum. I absolutely love having families in the clinic and look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

Outside the clinic, you can find me curled up on the couch reading, playing volleyball and/or softball in the GP Women’s League, walking my two dogs Luna and Diesel, and camping/hiking with my husband!

Hi, my name is Makenzie.

After flying to Maui in 2017 to become a certified Yoga instructor I came home and began my journey to study Massage Therapy and continued my interest in helping people. I eagerly got involved with practitioners who I consider mentors and for the curious mind I have, this was the best thing I could do for my practice and future clients.

One could describe my practice as therapeutic but what does that mean? Well, I personalise each treatment, using resources, continuous education and a listening ear to really make sure my clients know that treatment is truly about their goals and wellbeing for their homeostasis. Some of the techniques I like to marry with swedish techniques are low level craniosacral, fascia connection, breathing techniques and stretching. I believe a big part of massage therapy is to connect with humans with peace in mind, whether that means laughing, sleeping, or maybe feeling a little uncomfortable to get comfortable to achieve a relaxed state.

My main concern for my clients is for us to develop a trusting relationship. I don’t make complicated stories for my clients, I simply provide them a space to get out of the rat race and encourage them to have a deeper connection with their body.

If I am not talking about or providing a massage I am either planning or eating a delicious meal with loved ones, taking my Bijon Shitzu out on the kayak with me, playing fetch or walking trails with my younger mutt, dancing like nobody’s watching (because they probably shouldn’t) or booking a trip for my husband and I.
